We all see it all the time. Someone has found the next “Big Thing” when it comes to Fitness. The newest or “most proven” way to eat to get lean. The very best way to workout to get muscular strength, cardiovascular conditioning, and very rarely flexibility.

They are convinced beyond a doubt that they have struck “Fitness gold” based on some proven“scientific fact” that if they follow a certain workout routine and method of eating that they will magically get into the “physical condition they have always dreamed of.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if it actually worked like that! LOL! Life is not that simple folks. If it was, we could use the same Formula in EVERY aspect of our lives to get whatever positive results we want. What if we could follow some never miss “scientific fact” way of making money. How easy would life be then?

Each of us is an individual with different metabolisms, goals, genetics, and muscle building potential.

We can’t box ourselves into doing things a certain way just because the latest so called “expert” or bodybuilder says that it is the gospel. That is narrow minded thinking and will cause you to be wondering why you didn’t get the “amazing”, “for certain” results you were expecting.

Tami and I get questions daily about nutrition, leaning out, and building muscle. Each of us has to determine for ourselves that fine line of caloric intake that feeds our muscles, fuels our workouts, and allow us to recover from our intense activity without overfeeding.

If you overfeed your system, I don’t care if its 100% clean, healthy food, you will gain body fat and body weight. For instance, people are often surprised when I tell them I take in roughly 2000 calories a day. I get all of the muscle, strength, and conditioning I am looking for from 2000 calories a day. More often than not 5 meals a day. 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. I keep it simple, and it works.

Thank goodness for Beachbody. Simple, easy to follow nutrition programs, and super intense workouts. Real Fitness Experts like Shaun T, Tony Horton, Chalene Johnson, Brett Hoebel, & Debbie Siebers preach the basics over and over again. Workout hard and eat right. Simple stuff, yet people struggle. That’s life.

Back to the title of my article. Don’t just set goals and then talk big about what you are “planning to do”. Don’t publicly state a goal and then rant and rave about it everyday like World records are being broken. Talking less and doing more is always better. Tami and I believe 100% in publicly stating your goals. It adds positive pressure and keeps you accountable to your set goals.

How many times have you seen someone report of a Message Board, Blog, ect, that they are “CRUSHING” every workout, eating “SUPER CLEAN” every day for days, weeks, months on end, yet they NEVER post a pic of themselves or their conditioning. Isn’t that strange. Why do you suppose that is? If they are following this “proven” program to the letter, where are the results? There is a condition known as “Being a Legend in your own mind”. LOL! Try to avoid this exotic condition at all costs!

We are all thankful for INSANITY, P90X, ChaLEAN, Turbo Jam, or whatever Beachbody program you are doing. Real world, no fluff, results producing programs and nutrition. They are proven programs because of the results that people show on the Message Boards and Team Beachbody everyday.

So don’t just talk the Fitness talk…WALK THE FITNESS WALK!
